I am pleased to announce that a winner was chosen this week for the franchise contest that ended in October. It was a close contest that was narrowed down to two concepts based out of San Diego, California. The neat thing is that the review committee chose the winner and I did not have to vote. The winner is Cleanology.

Let me tell you a little about this company. Cleanology is a Residential House Cleaning Company currently serving Downtown San Diego and surrounding neighborhoods. Their goal as a company has always been quite simple: Simplify the lives of people by providing impeccable, trusty-worthy house cleaning services. Christine McDannell started Cleanology four years ago on December 7, 2003. She decided to create a truly unique urban cleaning company unlike anything else in the country.Cleanology's success in the art and science of cleaning has led to the opening of a second location in Las Vegas, Nevada in early 2008.

"When Dave Waldman told me that I won the contest I was extremely excited!" said Christine. "When I first started Cleanology four years ago franchising never crossed my mind but everyone always asked or assumed that Cleanology was already a franchise. I am very excited to let you know that all contest entries have been sent to the review committee last week. We are getting close to a winner and it has been narrowed down to three businesses. The three finalists are: ADA Complinance, Cleanology and Eclipse Marketing.

Without giving it away, I can say that so far there is a definate leader. I am waiting to hear from two people on the review committee, then all votes will be accounted for and a winner will be announced. I had given members of the review committee a deadline to submit their vote and want to make the announcement immediately.

The Franchise Maker's Contest

In an effort to give back to the San Diego business community, PIR & Associates, Inc., The Franchise Maker, will analyze the winning company’s current business model and develop an infrastructure for expansion and increased profits. The owner will be assisted step-by-step, through each stage of the disclosure process and referred to experts who will provide other needed services at affordable rates. Winning this contest will save one company more than 70 percent off the typical overall cost to franchise.

In order to qualify all applicants must submit a written entry (below) containing a 750-word summary that covers:

* Most Important – tell us about you, the owner, and why you want to Franchise
